This art-in-building project is intended to reflect the heterogeneous cultures at Allenmos School. The basis of the design – an intervention intended to encourage communication and create identity made on both the walls and floors in the building – was a project with the pupils: within a rotating system they were asked to draw their favourite objects that they had brought with them from home, using a felt pen and within a limited period of time. This resulted in innumerable versions of very different things which, reduced to lines, grew to form a fantastical archaic world. The interpretation of the drawing and the group dynamics became a carpet of memory, formed in stone.
